Mr. Richard Estes, age 74 of Marietta, GA passed away February 12, 2011. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, on the Board of Directors for the Ducktown Basin Museum, a member of the Bird Dog Association and a 50 year member of the American Chemical Society.

Richard was a graduate of Georgia Tech and Georgia State University. He was an Eagle Scout and a Scout master for many years.

Richard is survived by his wife Mary Jane Estes, sons Michael Estes and Alan Estes, daughters Catherine Estes and Janet Griffith and her husband Matthew and grandchildren Kailey and Rebecca Griffith and Joseph and Cera Estes. He was preceded in death by his parents Lucile and Donald Estes.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 11:00am at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mt.
