Class of 1954

HUMPHREYS, Paula S. Paula Stevenson Humphreys died on Sunday, the 15th of March 2015. She was born on October 16,1936 in Atlanta, Ga. to Gussie Patton Stevenson and Paul Clyde Stevenson.

She graduated from Brown High. Paula spent the majority of her adult life in New York City. Paula graduated from Georgia Tech in 1958 with a degree in Textile Chemistry.

During her time at Tech, she racked up a 'string of firsts' that has never been surpassed. She became Georgia Tech's first Drum Majorette; first woman to run and win a seat on the Student Council; first woman to join the Ramblin' Reck Club; the first Tech co-ed to be listed in Who's Who in American Colleges.

Paula moved to New York City in 1970. She held a position as an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York until her retirement in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Rena Humphreys Lyle (Hunter) and grandson, Harrison Hunter Lyle.

A private memorial is planned.
