Notice of BereavementThe Sylvan High folks who remember Coach Jack Wood are saddenes by his passing on December 30.
David Wright Brown class of 1958 announces the creation of his new web site.I wish to announce the creation of a website devoted totally to Joe BrownHigh School and its alumni.
The website address is https://joebrownhigh.org
Most browsers will find it if you simply type in joebrownhigh.org
The initial focus of work on the website will be in preparation for the
reunion of the class of 1958. The website was created to provide a place,
free of ads and spammers, to allow all Brown High people to get together
through email, a Message Forum Board and online chat groups. It will also
provide a place for people to have updated information posted on themselves,
family or whatever, including photographs. Anyone from any class who wish to
have their personal or reunion information added are welcome.
As I am just now making the website public, the only existing example of
such information at present is the information on myself, Jennelou and her
brother John Earnhardt and a recent update by John Dozier. This is an
example of the type of thing that I would like for people to send me for the
site. This is strictly voluntarily and you may provide whatever you wish or
not at all.
You can see our information directly at the following addresses:
These can also be seen by going through the following Menu Choices:
At the entry level, click on 'Classes/Reunions' --> 'Class Mates Laureate
Pictures'-->scroll down to either the page containing my name or that of
Jennelou and John-->Click on the picture and the full page will
appear-->scroll to the specific picture.
In addition, a feature has been added to allow quick access to any
information of this type without having to go through the Laureate pages to
see who is there. It is located at
https://joebrownhigh.org/Reunions/Reunion58_50/Classes/index.html I urgently
hope that everyone will send in something about what they've done, are
doing, and will be doing to catch up everyone else on the last 50 years.
Using the Search Feature to look for 'wright', 'earnhardt' or Dozier will
also locate these pages. There are many other names that can be searched for
which will bring up pictures from past reunions etc, which feature these
A Help Feature is the first item on the opening Menu. It leads to a menu for
selecting Instructions on 'Navigating the Website' and using the 'Message
Forum Board'. https://joebrownhigh.org/quickhelp.html
On our Laureate Class picture, you will notice that mine, Jennelou's, John's
and John Dozier's pictures each have a green border. Any picture with a
green border indicates that more information is available about the person.
In addition, John and other's have a black border which indicates that the
person is deceased. Currently, I only have date of death for the deceased
other than John and those dates are all on a single page. If more
information about one of these is obtained, I will add a green border to
their picture and put that information on a separate page as I have done
In addition to this kind of information, the website also provides several
1) Free e-mail accounts are available for all Brown High attendees. These
have the form 'firstname.lastname@example.org' and can be requested from me by
the page for requesting such an account at:
2) A Forum Message Board is available for all Brown High attendees and other
friends of Brown High. This allows a place where all of these people can get
together and carry on conversations without any advertising or spamming. For
this reason, the Board does require registration and it is a fairly easy
procedure to do this. It is located at
but if anyone has any problem or questions, again, contact me at
The Message Forum Board can be viewed directly from this email by using the
https://joebrownhigh.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 This presents an
introduction to the Forum.
3) I am in the process of adding a feature to take advantage of AOL's
Instant Messager. This will allow real-time, online chat groups in virtural
chat rooms for individuals who wish to take advantage of it. It does require
an additional registration of an AOL account name. There will be
documentation on how to do this.
I hope that this will provide a means for everyone to get back in touch with
others and catch up on what has been going on with since our graduations.
As well as personal information that you might wish to post, any and all
pictures of previous get-togethers or others of interest will be gratefully
accepted. You can email them to me at the above link or make copies and send
them via the postal service to me at:

IA New Year wish to everyone from Jimmy Carroll. Thanks for sending me The WestEnder newsletter. I grew up in West End, from 1952 thru 1960, and attended J. C. Harris Elementary. But, during the summer of 1960 we moved, and I didn't get to go to Brown, with all the kids I grew up with. I was very upset, I remember. Anyway, I wound up going to West Fulton High School for 3 years, and then finishing at South Cobb High, in Austell, in 1965.And I still hold many fond memories of growing up in West End Thanks again Jim Carrol
